About me

After studying Classics at Cambridge, I started by training to be a solicitor at London law firm, Mishcon de Reya.

Although I enjoyed lots about the law, I felt I wanted to help people more directly, and so upon qualification changed tack, studying for a PGCE and then teaching Classics in secondary schools.

Teaching was as rewarding as I’d hoped, and I loved taking on roles of pastoral responsibility alongside, working as an Assistant Housemaster in two boarding schools.

It was here that I realised that while I loved teaching Classics, what I enjoyed most about my time in schools was supporting my pupils and helping them manage their mental health and wellbeing.

By this time I’d practised yoga for 10 years, finding it so helpful for my own wellbeing that I decided to train as a Yoga teacher In August 2023. It was then I discovered the power of pranayama (loosely translated as Breathwork) and was amazed by the way a few simple exercises helped me instantly feel calmer, more centred and focussed.

Time and again, as I noticed breathwork’s impact on me and others, I have thought “how much difference would it make if we taught this breathwork stuff in schools, and to law firm employees?”

And so I resolved on returing to the UK to aim to bring Breathwork to schools, taking a leap in December 2023 and leaving my teaching job. I spent the next 5 months learning more about Yoga and Breathwork (taking an advanced yoga teacher training certification at Samyak Yoga in Mysore), and gained a greater insight into the science behind Breathwork by taking courses at Breath-Body-Mind, certifying as a Level 1 Breathwork Instructor, and Oxygen Advantage, certifying as a Level 1 Functional Breathing Instructor.

And now I’m ready to bring breathwork to schools, law firms and individuals by focussing on what I love doing most, teaching.

Alongside breathwork, I also teach yoga, tutor Latin, Classical Civilisation and Greek and lead school expeditions
